18-year-old Tallaght man convicted of manslaughter

An 18 year-old Dublin man was today found guilty of the manslaughter of a 20-year-old man at the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre just over a year ago.

The court had heard that Kevin Walsh of Allenton Green, Tallaght killed James Burke - who had just moved to Ireland - simply because he was English.

The court heard that Walsh kicked and beat James Burke to death after a row during a drinking session at the centre in September last year.

It was two days before his body was discovered.

Walsh was accused of murder, but today a jury convicted him of manslaughter.

He's set to appear before the court for sentencing on December 4th.
