The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has been leading tributes to Irish writer Anne Enright following her Booker Prize victory last night.
The Dubliner won the €50,000 prize for her novel The Gathering, about a family dealing with the suicide of a loved one.
Mr Ahern and the opposition party leaders paid tribute to Ms Enright in the Dail today, with the Taoiseach describing her win as a "marvellous achievement".
Arts Minister Seamus Brennan has also congratulated the 45-year-old, describing The Gathering as an insightful piece of writing.
