Published 26/11/2006

Gardai in Mitchelstown have launched an investigation into the discovery of a man's body in the early hours of this morning.

The body was found at the side of the road on the Mitchelstown by-pass on the main Cork to Dublin road at around 4 o'clock this morning.

The body has been removed to Cork University Hospital for a post mortem examination.

Gardai have appealed for people who may have travelled the route between 3.30 and 4.30 this morning, and who may have seen anything suspicious to contact them.
