Brazilian man arrested after Charleville murder

Gardai in Cork have this morning arrested a man in connection with the murder of Alberto Do Prado Oliveira.

The 47-year-old's body was found at a flat on the main street in Charleville on Thursday night.

A post mortem revealed he died from a stab wound.

Officers arrested a 43-year-old Brazilian national at 7.40am.

He is being detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for up to six hours, but that can be extended by a further six hours.

Gardai have said that they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
