The Farm Minister has said the ban on the importation of cattle, fresh meat and un-pasteurised milk from the UK will remain in place.
The order follows a high level briefing Mary Coughlan received from senior agriculture officials this morning.
The Minister said her department is keeping in close contact with the British authorities and disinfectant measures will continue at airports and ports across the country.
Minister Coughlan said until the all-clear has been given in the UK, Ireland will remain on high alert.
