Opposition accuse Taoiseach of diversionary tactics during his attack on Mahon Tribunal lawyers

Fine Gael has accused the Taoiseach of ignoring key issues during an attack on lawyers for the Mahon Tribunal.

In an interview with the Sunday Independent, Bertie Ahern said questions put to him at the inquiry have been indecent and inappropriate.

The Taoiseach insisted he has nothing to hide about his tax affairs but defended his right to confidentiality in his dealing with the Revenue Commissioners.

Mr. Ahern also singled out Fine Gael Senator Eugene Regan for criticism

But the Senator has countered, accusing the Taoiseach of trying to deflect from the real issues.
