The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has claimed there is nothing new in reports this morning revealing that he is being investigating over payments from a number of businessmen.
Reports this morning say the Mahon Tribunal has written to three of four people concerning payments to Mr Ahern totalling between €50,000 and €100,000.
The payments were reportedly made in 1993, when Mr Ahern was Minister for Finance and treasurer of Fianna Fail.
Speaking to Clare FM this morning, Mr Ahern said he was co-operating fully with the inquiry and had furnished all documentation requested by the tribunal in order to prove his innocence.
He said he had faced a string of allegations about massive payments from wealthy businessmen and there was nothing new in this morning's newspaper articles.
