Young PDs to discuss energy plan at national conference

Published 18/11/2006

Nuclear power as a safe and environmentally-friendly means of generating energy is the contentious issue of debate for young PD's later today.

The national conference of Young Progressive Democrats will be attended by several high profile party figures including the Tanaiste and PD Deputy Leader.

YPD Chair Colm Fahy says the subject of energy will be at the top of the agenda.

Other energy related motions include a call for road tax to be linked to the level of carbon emissions and a ban on the standby function on all electrical equipment sold in future.
