Published 29/11/2008

Heroin with a street value of €50k has been seized at Dublin Airport.

The drugs were confiscated following questioning of a 21-year-old woman from the UK.

The Revenue Customs Service said the six pellets of heroin were concealed internally on her person.

The woman had arrived on a flight from Amsterdam.

She was arrested and handed over to the Garda Drugs Unit in Santry and is due to appear before Dublin District Court this afternoon.

To date this year, officers of Revenue's Customs Service at Dublin Airport have seized over 6 million euro worth of drugs.
