Dublin Gardai investigating kidnap of 62-year-old woman

Published 08/11/2006

Gardai in Dublin are investigating the kidnapping of a 62-year-old woman outside her home in Dublin yesterday evening.

The woman was abducted on a city street by a number of men in balaclavas at around 6pm and bundled into a white van.

Gardai say the vehicle had been stolen from the Glasnevin Industrial Estate last month.

The woman managed to free herself early this morning before alerting Gardai in Dun Laoghaire to the situation.

Gardai are appealing for anyone with information about the case to contact detectives in Whitehall.
