Published 06/11/2006

A 24-year-old Dublin man has pleaded guilty to killing an inmate at Mountjoy Prison in January last year.

Stephen Wall, from Shankill in Dublin, was arraigned before the Central Criminal Court this morning, when he admitted the manslaughter of 30-year-old Alan Green, who was stabbed in a cell.

Lawyers for the DPP accepted the plea and a date for sentencing has been set for December 18th.

Mr Green, from Bray in Wicklow, was serving a nine-month sentence for the possession of drugs when he was killed.
