Dundalk man re-charged with murder of Liam Murphy

A Dundalk murder suspect who was released from custody last week because of a delay in producing a book of evidence has been re-charged with the offence.

Thirty-six-year-old Gregory Conway had been charged with the murder of 43-year-old Liam Murphy, also known as Liam Maguire, at Woodview Terrace in June.

However, the charge against him was dismissed last Friday when Gardai failed to produce a book of evidence within the required timeframe.

Mr Conway was re-arrested in Dublin late last night and is due in court this morning, where he will be formally re-charged with the murder.
