Emergency landing at Shannon

A plane carrying 270 American soldiers has made an emergency landing at Shannon airport.

The Omni Air International aircraft reported engine trouble while en route from the Middle East to the US.

The DC 10 aircraft landed safely at the airport just before midday.

Emergency services were at the scene as a precautionary measure.

Yesterday, a US Military aircraft made an emergency landing at Shannon airport.

There were no injuries in either incident.
