Evacuation in Dublin City following bomb scare

More than two thousand people were evacuated in Dublin city centre last night following a bomb scare at a hotel.

It was found at the Clifton Court Hotel on Eden Quay just after eleven o' clock.

Gardai evacuated the hotel and bar, the area was cordoned off and diversions were put in place for motorists.

The Army bomb disposal team carried out a controlled explosion on the device which they say was an elaborate hoax.

The area has now been re-opened.
