Family held at gunpoint during Lisburn robbery

Police in the North are appealing for witnesses following a burglary yesterday in which a couple and their two young children were held at gunpoint.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon at a house in the Dunrod area of Lisburn.

Three masked men armed with a shotgun and a pistol forced the couple to sit on the kitchen floor while three flat-screen TVs and a sum of cash were stolen.

The raiders made their getaway in the family car, a blue Volkswagen Passat, as well as a Nissan Micra which they are believed to have hijacked on Sunday evening.

Nobody was injured during the burglary.
