Family held hostage during Dublin post office raid

Published 04/12/2008

Gardai in Dublin are investigating a so-called tiger kidnapping this morning in which a family was held hostage at a house in Sutton.

A woman and her teenage children were held hostage while her husband, an employee of An Post, was forced to go the Post Office in Edenmore and hand over an undisclosed sum of money.

Gardai say a number of crime scenes have been preserved and a full investigation is underway.
