Fears of flooding in the UK subside

Fears of further wide-spread flooding in England look to have been misguided.

Forecasters have said there is more wet weather to come, but not on the scale originally feared.

People in areas hit by last summer's devastating downpours have been desperately sandbagging their homes.

However, Gloucestershire Police have moved to reassure residents that conditions are nowhere near as bad as in July.
