Galway man given suspended sentence for exposing himself to woman

A Galway City Council worker has been given a 2 month suspended prison sentence after he exposed himself to a woman and asked her to use a castrating tongs on his private parts.

41 year old John Looby of Grange East, Turloughmore was convicted of wilfully openly and lewdly exposing himself with intent to insult a female at Lackaghmore Turloughmore in Galway on September the 8th 2005.

27 year-old Naomi Armstrong from Killeen in Gort put an ad in a local paper looking for part-time farm work and asked for replies by text message only as she can't hear or speak.

John Looby replied to the ad saying "I may have some work for you with a birdiso."

After a series of text messages between the pair they met up, went to a chemist's shop and Mr Looby bought a birdiso, or, castrating tongs.

The separated father of two said he thought Ms Armstrong "might be interested in role play", believed she was very interested in castration and admitted he had a certain interest in it.

John Looby denied exposing himself in the car and denied he had seedy, sinister things on his mind.

On handing down a two month suspended prison sentence, the judge said Mr Looby had put Naomi Armstrong through an extremely unpleasant experience.
