Government accused of having no plan

Fine Gael's Finance Spokesperson has accused the Government of not having a plan to deal with the current economic downturn.

It follows Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan's decision yesterday to increase the level of deposit guarantees from its current €20k to €100k.

The guarantee level will also apply to credit union savers.

Richard Bruton said it should have been put in place earlier.
