Institute of Technology staff threaten strike action

Published 23/03/2008

Teachers at a number of Institutes of Technology around the country have threatened strike action over pay and working conditions.

The Teachers Union of Ireland has warned that its members are likely to vote in favour of industrial action at their annual meeting in two days time.

The union says IT management is failing to implement Labour Court recommendations on wages and working conditions.

TUI General Secretary Peter MacMenamin has warned of a very high level of frustration towards management in Ireland's ITs.
