Ireland's hopes of gold medal rest with Egan

Ireland could win a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics this morning, when Ken Egan steps in to the ring in the light heavyweight final.

The 26-year-old Dubliner is guaranteed at least a silver medal, even if he loses his fight against China's Xiaoping Zhang.

Gerard Fleming is Head Coach at Neilstown Boxing Club where Ken Egan trains.

He says the Dubliner can get the gold.

'Kenny has been training for this since the age of eight and he's in with a great shout,' he said.
