Joe Dolan's company among tax defaulters

Published 09/06/2009

A Westmeath company which once listed the late singer Joe Dolan as a director has made one of the biggest settlements to the Revenue Commissioners in the latest tax defaulters list.

The list, released this afternoon, contains details of over 100 settlements accepted between January and March of this year - fifteen of which exceeded €1 million.

The now dissolved Monroe Mullingar Limited once listed the late Joe Dolan and his brother Benedict as directors.

The entertainment and promotions company paid over €1.76 million in tax, and penalties of over €2 million.

Another major settlement was that made by company director and multi-millionaire Joseph Clayton Love Jr from Currabinny in Co. Cork. He made a settlement of €1.4 million arising from the Ansbacher investigation.

The latest issue of Iris Oifigiúil includes 105 settlements totalling €32.6 million.
