Jury to consider verdict in Ballymun murder

The jury in the trial of a Dublin father-of-one, who is accused of murdering another man by shooting him in the head at close range, is expected to rise to consider its verdict today.

The defendant, 22-year-old Stephen Kelly from Balcurris Road in Ballymun, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of 28-year-old Ian McConnell on December 11th 2005.

Mr McConnell was gunned down on the first floor landing of a block of flats at Shangan Road, in Ballymun.
