Labour Court to rule on nurses' claim for 10% pay increase

Published 06/11/2006

The Labour Court is due to issue a ruling today in nurses' claims for a pay increase and a reduced working week.

The Irish Nurses Organisation and the Psychiatric Nurses Association are seeking pay increases of just over 10% and a 35-hour working week.

They say the changes are needed to bring nurses' pay and conditions in line with those of other healthcare professionals.

The INO says it is confident that the Labour Court will back its claims today as the arguments it put forward in the case are "irrefutable".
