Lithuanian man attacked in Newry hate crime

Police in the North say they are treating an attack on a Lithuanian man in Co Down this morning as a hate crime.

The 35-year-old victim was walking through Newry city centre just before 1am when he was attacked by four men on the Armagh Road.

He was struck over the head with a piece of timber and had his mobile phone stolen.

The Lithuanian man suffered a fractured wrist and cuts to his head.
