Major Irish trade delegation travels to Middle East

Over one hundred Irish companies have joined the Taoiseach today on one of Ireland's largest trade missions to the Middle East.

A number of senior Ministers are also travelling to Saudi Arabia and Dubai in an effort to boost Irish business in the two largest economies in the region.

The Middle East represents major opportunities for Irish firms especially in the areas of technology, education and agri-food.

Minister for Enterprise Michael Martin says improving exports will help job creation.

"It's to create awareness of Ireland and of Irish companies and their quality products in these particular markets to increase exports and to gain greater presence so we can underpin jobs back at home," he said.
