Man and woman killed in house fires in Sligo and Antrim

A man and a woman have died in separate overnight house fires in Co Sligo and Antrim town.

The man, who was in his late 60s, died in a fire at his house in Cregg, near Rosses Point, which broke out at around 9pm last night.

The woman, meanwhile, died in a fire at her flat in Antrim at around 2.30am.

She was found dead in a bedroom by firefighters called to extinguish the blaze.

Separate investigations are underway into the cause of both blazes.
