A man died this afternoon after being washed into the sea while fishing in County Clare.
It is understood that the man, believed to be a Latvian national, was fishing with three friends at the notoriously dangerous Blue Pool between Kilkee and Doonbeg in the west of the county.
The man is believed to have been washed from the rocks by a rogue wave.
His body was recovered at around 3 o' clock by members of the Kilkee Rescue Unit.
Garda€ at Kilkee are investigating.
