Man due in court over murder of girl in Connemara

A man is due before a special sitting of Galway District Court today charged with the murder of a young woman in Connemara.

The man was arrested yesterday morning after the body of a 19-year-old girl was found outside a house in the Inverin area.

He was released just before midday today and rearrested before being charged with murder.

The dead girl is believed to have been from the Czech Republic and had been living for a year in Connemara, where he was caring for a person with a disability.

Gardai say they won't be releasing the results of a post mortem on her body which they expect to receive later today.
