A man is recovering in the Mater hospital after a shooting in Dublin overnight.

The 25 year old was shot in the shoulder in the toilets of a pub in Finglas last night, but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Two men entered the pub on Barry road shortly before 11 o'clock, approached the man and fired a sawn off shotgun.

Both men fled the scene on foot.

Gardai at Finglas are continuing to investigate the incident.
