Man shot in Co Waterford

A man has been shot and injured in County Waterford.

The alarm was raised shortly after 1pm this afternoon when a man, said to be in his fifties, was found by the roadside in Coolbeggan, near Tallow.

He was suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, and rushed for treatment to Cork University Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

He is now in a stable condition.

Anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious is asked to contact Garda€ in Dungarvan.

In particular they're looking for information on a Blue jeep-type vehicle seen in the area at the time.
