Mobile phone operators launch safety campaign targeting children

Published 04/03/2007

Two of the country's mobile phone networks are to launch safety campaigns which will allow parents screen their children's phone calls.

It will also stop the kids accessing porn on the internet.

Vodafone and O2 have introduced programmes that filter internet material on phones, and which lets parents view their children's phone records.

The measures come following this week's revelations that a 14 year-old boy had been contacted by at least six men for sex via his mobile phone.
