Mother calls for end to cycle of violence in Limerick

A young mother has demanded action is taken to tackle the anti-social behaviour which has plagued estates in Limerick city.

Sharon Clancy from Clare Street is the organiser behind today's rally outside the City Hall calling on the people of Limerick to take a stand against the violence.

It follows a spate of attacks in the Moyross area in particular - including one in which a young brother and sister were seriously burned.

The mother-of-two said she hoped people will makes their voices heard.

"This issue isn't just a Moyross issue," she said. "It's an issue that's happening in estates all over the city and country. It's something that has to be stopped, not just in Moyross, but everywhere."
