A man has been killed in a slurry-pit accident in Co Galway.
The accident happened at a farm on Peak Barnadearg at about six o'clock on Saturday evening.
Gardai, the Tuam fire brigade and the emergency services were called to the scene but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to University Hospital in Galway for a post-mortem.
The man, who was in his seventies, was a widower and had a grown-up family.
His name is not being released until all of the next of kin have been informed
