Pipe bomb made safe in Dublin
A pipe bomb discovered under a car in the north of Dublin has been made safe by the Army Bomb Disposal Team.
The device was discovered on Captain's Avenue in Crumlin last night and the defence forces were notified.
The bomb disposal team arrived on the scene at about ten to two on Sunday morning and found the small pipe bomb under a parked car outside a house on the street.
The home-made device was made safe an hour later.
The army says it was a viable bomb but no controlled explosion was needed.
The device has been handed over to the Gardai for forensic examination
