Poll: No change as FF keep recent gains at FG's expense

Published 26/11/2006

There has been little change in voter sentiment over the past month since the last Sunday Business Post opinion poll was conducted.

The latest survey shows no change in support for Fianna Fail or Fine Gael, and only minor changes among the other political parties.

This means that FF gains at FG's expense following the recent scandal concerning money accepted by Taoiseach Bertie Ahern while he was the Minister for Finance in the 1990s were not a temporary backlash but a real swing to the major government partner from the main opposition party.

The PDs will be happy to see a one-point increase, bringing them to 4%.

Labour gained an extra two points, and now stand at 12%.

However, both the Greens and Sinn Fein suffered losses and are now at 7% and 8% respectively.
