PSNI question man over Belfast attack

Published 21/09/2008

Police in the North are questioning a young man in connection with an attack on another man in Belfast on Friday night.

The victim - who is in his forties - suffered head injuries when he was set upon by a group of three men and two women in the Markets area near the city centre.

He remains in a critical condition in hospital after the incident, which occurred at around 9.30pm.

It is understood two male doctors who were in the area at the time stopped to help the man.

The PSNI is appealing to anyone with any information to come forward.
