The long-awaited O'Neill report into the abuses at Leas Cross nursing home will be published today.
The report was commissioned by the Health Service Executive last year after a television documentary uncovered incidents of abuse at the north Dublin home.
Its publication comes a year and a half after the sub-standard conditions and levels of care at the home were exposed in a television documentary.
The Professor Des O'Neill report, which has been partially leaked, is expected to be highly critical of the role of the HSE and the former Eastern Regional Health Authority.
It also contains submissions from some senior health officials identified in the report and criticises the level of medical and nursing cover at the home.
More recently, claims have been made that senior members of the health board knew of the abuses from October 2004, but took no real action until they were exposed on television.
