Revenue can keep cash seized from Gilligan's daughter

Revenue has been told it can retain money seized from the daughter of convicted drug trafficker John Gilligan at Dublin Airport.

Nineteen thousand euros in cash was found in the luggage of Teresa Gilligan, of Willsbrook View in Lucan, before she boarded a flight to Alicante in June 2004.

The judge at Dublin Circuit Court says he is satisfied the money is the direct or indirect proceeds of drug trafficking after mannitol - which is widely used to cut cocaine - was also found in the 31-year-old's hand luggage.

Ms Gilligan has been granted 30 days to appeal the decision.
