Searchers recover man's body in Newbridge

The body of a man has been discovered in Newbridge, County Kildare.

It is believed to be that of a local man who fell into the river Liffey in the early hours of this morning.

The alarm was raised when the man's brother reported the incident to Gardai in Newbridge at around 2am.

A search was carried out by the Air Support unit and the Garda water unit.
