Second teed killed on nation's roads in 24 hours

A second teenager has died on the country's roads today after being struck by a car in County Meath.

The accident happened on the N2 just after midnight.

Gardai have said he was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown where he was pronounced dead at half past one.

Garda€ at Dunshaughlin are investigating the incident.

In a separate incident a 16 year old girl has was killed in a road crash in Sligo at Ragwood, Gurteen at around 3.20am this morning.
