Sikh leaders consider legal challenge to Garda Turban ban

Sikh leaders in Ireland are considering mounting a legal challenge to the banning of turban's in the Gardai.

The Irish Sikh Council has reportedly been in contact with representatives of a New York police officer who successfully overturned a similar ban there.

It comes after Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy upheld a ban on the head dress after a Sikh reservist recruit insisted he must be allowed to wear it whilst on duty.
