Swine flu information sent to schools nationwide

The Government has sent detailed information on swine flu to schools around the country in preparation for the start of the new term.

The latest figures from the Department of Health show that 75 people have now needed hospital treatment after contracting the virus.

The number of people presenting to doctors with flu symptoms has stabilised at around 1,500-a-week.

Thirty-thousand doses of a vaccine are expected to arrive in Ireland next week, but it could be a number of weeks before it is officially licensed for use.
