Talks aimed at diverting rail strike continue

Published 14/10/2007

Management and unions at Iarnrod Eireann are meeting with the Labour Relations Commission today to try to avert a one-day rail strike planned for tomorrow.

Members of SIPTU and the NBRU are threatening to strike at midnight over concerns about work practices.

Thousands of passengers travelling to and from Cork, Kerry, Ennis and Limerick from Dublin will be affected, as will Cork commuter services if the action goes ahead.

Passengers are advised to check Iarnrod Eireann's website before travelling.
