Tibetan Community in Ireland stage solidarity demonstration in Dublin

Published 16/03/2008

The Tibetan Community in Ireland is staging a solidarity demonstration with independence demonstrators in Tibet this morning.

The demonstration begins at the Spire on Dublin's O'Connell Street at nine o'clock this morning.

Chinese authorities say if protestors in Tibet do not surrender by Monday night, there will be a harsh response.

Buddhist monks have been leading the people in protests against China's rule.

China says at least 10 people have died in the violence but the exiled Tibetan Government say the death toll is much higher.
