Train services return to normal after derailment

Published 17/08/2008 | 06:37

Iarnrod Eireann says services out of Heuston Station in Dublin have returned to normal.

It follows the derailment of a train just outside Portarlington in Co Laois after a landslide yesterday.

310 people were on board the 11am Dublin to Cork train, but nobody was injured in the incident.

Crews have worked overnight to repair the track.

Spokesperson Barry Kenny says there may be minor delays around Portarlington.

"We are expecting all services to operate fully today.

"There will delays around the area but they will be quite minor", he said.
