Two men arrested over rush-hour murder on Dublin street

Published 15/11/2006

Gardai in Dublin are questioning two men in connection with the murder of another man in a gangland-style shooting on a busy street in the city during yesterday evening's rush hour.

The 42-year-old father-of-four was shot dead by the pillion passenger on a motorbike which pulled up alongside him as he was cycling in the north inner city.

The shooting happened at the junction of Clonliffe Road and Ballybough Road at around 5pm

The victim is believed to be known to the Gardai, but was not involved in any criminal gang.
