The government has announced that it is extending garda vetting to all pre-school services.

From January staff, students and volunteers working in cr€ches and nurseries will be vetted .

The new measures are part of a shake up of the current Child Care Regulations which includes the introduction of a part-time day care service, which will allow providers to operate a service for up to 5 hours for parents who want to work, study or train part-time .
