Woman and teenager injured in latest Moyross shooting

Published 25/09/2006

A 15-year-old boy and a woman in her 40s are recovering in hospital after being shot overnight in the Moyross area of Limerick.

The victims were apparently blasted with a shotgun in the Delmege Park area at around 10.30pm, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The shooting is the latest in a string of violent incidents in Moyross over the past few weeks.

Gardai are investigating if it is connected to the ongoing feud between rival criminal gangs in Limerick which claimed the life of 21-year-old Frankie Ryan earlier this month.
