Japan is bracing itself for the arrival of a two-metre tsunami following a strong earthquake to the north of the country.
Meteorologists say the wave will be at least 6.5 feet high and will hit the northern and eastern coasts at around 12.10pm.
The warning follows a 7.7-magnitude earthquake in the Kuril Islands.
